Sound

I have been having trouble figuring out the sound of Philadelphia's walkability. I wanted to be a little more original than hearing heels on concrete. Especially since that isn't a sound that will identify as walking for every individual. So far I think I'm going to focus on little noises that will help tell this story. Like, the sound of the walking signs beeping when you don't have much time left to cross, the sound of cars driving by, and I'm still brainstorming other sounds.

Interview

I interviewed Rudy Turner from Delran, NJ. He traveled from Rutgers University (New Brunswick) to walk from Temple to City Hall to witness the historic Eagles Super Bowl Victory Parade. He mentioned that walking Broad St from Temple isn't something he would ever normally think to do, but the energy in the city has been so crazy and there were so many other people alongside him. Turner drove to Philadelphia the Sunday night of the Super Bowl from his Delran home and made the same walk with his friends. That's over a 4-mile walk there and back. Rudy and his friends were joined by plenty of Eagles fans and others just enjoying the energy.
